New satirical photo of Swedish Ruben Ostlund, which brought him the third prize at the Cannes Film Festival. According to the plot, a group of people who do not know each other find themselves on a luxury ship. Among them are an arms dealer, a Russian oligarch, an IT specialist and several impressive models. The ship is steered by a drunken Marxist captain played by Woody Harrelson. Suddenly the ship crashes and the few survivors are trying to survive on a tropical island where they have to rethink their class and place in the food chain.
“The white light approached you like a wedge”, Igor Poplauhin – from December 8
A fictional biography about the rock singer Yanka Diaghileva, who became a symbol of the Siberian musical underground in the late 80s. Directed by Igor Poplaukhin, the film deals with the true story of the artist, whose life was tragically interrupted in 1991 under mysterious circumstances. The result is a half-truth/half-fiction film portrait in which the authors pay homage to Diaghileva’s work and influence, trying to understand the reasons for the singer’s difficult fate.
“Remember” (“Rimembeo”) by Lee Il-hyun – from December 8
A grim South Korean thriller about the strange partnership of an 80-year-old man with progressive Alzheimer’s disease and his young friend. An old man has a terrible secret – he is searching for those responsible for the death of his family during the Japanese occupation. In order not to forget his enemies, he tattooed their names on his arms. The hero’s young partner is unaware of the old comrade’s plans, but unwittingly becomes his accomplice. Now they must go through a dangerous path of vengeance, leaving rivers of blood behind.
“Breathing” by Rinat Makhmudov – from December 8
A kind and warm story about the friendship of two young people who change both their lives. Growing up in an orphanage, Sasha from an early age got used to fighting for her place in life. His hobby is boxing fights, in which he successfully defeats his opponents, but his dream is medicine, because Sasha likes to help other people more than injure them. When a girl is hired as a nurse for Kolya, an equally caustic and hostile disabled teenager, she gets a chance to show her concern for others. Together, they must navigate a difficult but also exciting path of rapprochement with the world that is not as scary as they had previously thought.

Documentaries dedicated to his favorite director and close friend Alexei Balabanov and the masterpiece of film critic Lyubov Arkus. Work on the film began two years before the director’s death and is a chronicle of the making of his last film, I Want It Too. 2022 is a kind of Balabanov year: a traveling exhibition about the director himself and his film legacy. Petersburg, and Lyubov Arkus managed to not only become the voice of a generation, but also predict what will happen to this generation when it is no longer itself.
