Cintora: “Checking the message is not checking the truth””

There is a saying that we don’t know half the mass, but we all think we are super knowledgeable, are we living in poverty?

While many people don’t understand why, it worries me that we live in a time of war and growing economic inequality. there is truth wonderconnects with distrustful and disconnected people, discontent. fertile soil for scams and for those trying to fish in troubled rivers. On the other hand, watch out for the many young people who get disconnected and go the other way because they don’t care about what the traditional media is telling them. And they have their reasons too. This is not inopia, but cloaks of darkness caused by habit.

Saying they don’t want you to know about it sounds like a big conspiracy of the powerful. Who are they?

It is power and the power of money to decide what counts and what does not. Logically, those who do not comply with them are not counted or transmitted silently. My book, They Don’t Want You To Know, is not about the gathering of men petting cats while deciding the fate of humanoids. It tells the bitter realities of those who have economic or political power. Decide what is done and what is notwhere progress is made or where we stay stagnant. Knowledge is power. Therefore, political or economic powers take care to control what is said and who says it.

They’ve been telling us for months that the winter will be very bad, but no one has indicated what will happen. There is no clarity in messages and speeches, does the political and economic power know what they don’t want to tell us?

See how much food, electricity, fuel, rent or mortgage cost and how their prices are rising. We return to the stories of winners and losers. It is inappropriate for the winners to say much about their reasons so that the house is not disturbed. And sometimes it is spoken a lot but not understood. Therefore, its naturalness, simplicity,clarity to communicate in the media. I don’t like scammers, golados, community pedants talking without saying much.

In the book you ask him, does a good story sell more than good management? Are we inclined to buy a good story even if the facts deny it?

Beware of increasing the distance between the reality in which people live and certain political or media circuses. No matter how much soap you give in the media, a lot of people know. their difficulties. No matter how much this or that politician is focused on vanity, ranting, or election manifestos, there are citizens who have problems. Checking the message is not checking the truth. Not everyone buys damaged goods.

How do you see the blockade of the judiciary and the role of Feijóo, is he a politician without an opinion or does he wake up every day with a different idea? Are there any traces of leader or expiration date?

The question of jurisdiction in Spain is very serious and goes far beyond Feijóo. Spaniards have a very high perception that justice is not the same for everyone. This is reflected in different surveys. This is a problem for democracy. There is a different justice for the privileged. There is an excess of impunity such as excessive politicization, evaluations, prescriptions, corrupt honorary, lack of tools… I talk about this a lot in the book. What happened with corruption in Alicante is another proof of this.

Could Feijóo finally become Casado and PP, like the Conservatives, not find their leader by the third? Will Ayuso eventually become an alternative?

One of the burdens of current politics is the huge amount of energy lost in civil wars, stabbings, wars. power ambitions. And it happened in PP and all parties. And it happens in politics and in many professions. For this reason, sometimes the best are not rewarded, but rather those balls that the leader sees as slaves that will not contradict or overshadow him. This is a burden for a society.

What does Bolsonaro’s silence remind you of after Lula’s victory?

I stand behind what you say lula. “They tried to bury me alive and here I am.” Brazil is a good setting to reflect on something more global. Perhaps the most important thing I can say in this interview: We live in a world power and information war. I think a lot about this. The dilemma, more democracy, more solidarity or more selfish concessions or an exchange of favors in front of the powerful? And I’m not just talking about a tag fight between left and right. There are those who fill their mouths with the fact that they are progressive and have given up on these ambitions before.

Has the far right skyrocketed in the world or does it still have a long way to go?

We should be more worried if they allow the dissatisfied to monopolize the way of the very confused angry. Therefore, it is not just a matter of labels. Let’s talk politics. More social justice, more common rights and duties, more care for public services, access to housing, less inequality, more action against climate change or more freedom of expression. If these points are violated, it looks bad to me. Whoever does it. The path is more progress and less backwardness for all.
