After her success in Madrid, Sara Baras arrives at the Cervantes Theater in Malaga with her show ‘Alma’. Starting tomorrow Thursday and will be on stage until Sunday, four performances where the Cádiz-born bailaora and choreographer combine boleros and different flamenco styles.

He was on Starlite in the summer and is now returning to Malaga with ‘Alma’ four times. How does it feel?

I am super excited and grateful. The public’s reaction was impressive. We have completed three days, we have opened the fourth one, for this I thank my soul.

How are the people of Malaga?

Wonderful. I feel very good in Malaga, not only professionally, but also because I feel loved and respected. I love the city and consider it my second home, it welcomed me a long time ago and I have a special love for it.

What is ‘Receiving’ for you?

A show dedicated to my father was in love with boleros. In ‘Alma’ we are talking about the difficulty of understanding it for someone who is not a fan of flamenco. An encounter with him, we recall his favorite boleros. Combining this into something beautiful, we combine the language of traditional and contemporary artist. A precious fusion that introduced me to my father.

after the success MadridHow is this tour going?

This is unbelievable, because besides being a beautiful tour, there is a total dedication from the public. Feeling the world of theater again, the magic of the immediacy. It was brutal in Madrid, we were ‘run out’ every day. We are very excited, I have a great team by my side.

Unlimited scenarios also appear.

Enjoy without restrictions, see unmasked faces, feel everything behind. It taught us a lot and now we value intimacy even more.

And after the national tour, a world tour of the country awaits.

Now we will go to Torrevieja, Albacete, Coruña, among others. At the end of the year we took ‘Alma’ to Paris, Australia, Miami and New York.

You did the show dance, art and power. However, how important is your lifetime team on your shows?

This company has existed for 25 years. They’re very important on an artistic and technical level, but I’m lucky to have a very professional team and they’re great on a personal level as well. I feel privileged.

Many flamenco artists assure that they are always more valued outside of Spain, was that your case?

I have always felt very loved and respected. But sometimes you will see that the important festivals of the Culture are in other countries or they give place to it. But we have to thank celebrities like Camarón, Paco de Lucía or Remedios Amaya who opened doors for us.

He’s been dancing for 35 years, can he see himself dancing for 30 years?

That’s a good question, I really don’t know. I thought I would lower my level after becoming a mother, but now I feel stronger than ever. If the body allows, I will try to be as much as possible.

What can they expect? malagueños spirit’?

Malaga is pure soul. There is so much emotion, dedication and passion. It is such a loving city that it is a very special date because it is in the Cervantes Theatre. A magic show combining flamenco and bolero. A very successful fusion. There is a great artist quality accompanying us and a great delivery. I will leave my soul in Malaga.
