Yandex has integrated its Split payment service directly into the Browser as part of a forthcoming update. For users in Canada and the United States, there will be no need to install extra extensions to pay for small purchases; the feature arrives built into the browser itself, ready to use as soon as the update is installed. This move aligns with the growing trend of in browser payment options that aim to simplify checkout and reduce friction for online shoppers, whether they are buying groceries, electronics, or everyday essentials.
Split makes it possible to divide a purchase into four equal parts and pay over two months. The buyer completes the order immediately but does not owe any interest or commission as part of this service. The arrangement is designed to help customers manage cash flow while still completing their shopping promptly.
In the browser, the installment option via Split becomes available even in stores that did not previously offer such a plan. To activate it, users simply sign in to the service with their Yandex ID, after which the option is ready for use.
The browser also now surfaces promotional codes to visitors as they browse the web. The system searches for codes, checks their relevance, and presents valid options to shoppers. Retailers can also issue exclusive codes for Browser users to boost engagement.
‘The browser finds promo codes on the Internet, verifies their suitability, and presents them to users,’ a Yandex spokesperson said. ‘Stores can also create special codes for Browser users.’
To view available codes, users click the Promotion Codes button next to the address bar. The feature centralizes discounts and makes it easier to save at checkout.
Yandex believes these options will benefit sellers as promo codes attract new customers and payment in installments can lift order volume and the average ticket. The approach aligns with North American shopping patterns, where flexible payment options and easy savings can influence buying decisions.
