The Ukrainian authorities have moved to place several assets owned by the Russian designer Artemy Lebedev under the stewardship of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. The decision was issued by the Council of Ministers and was reported by RIA News with reference to the fund’s press service. The formal statement noted that the government transferred the property holdings of Artemy Lebedev, a controversial figure in design and media circles, to the management of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
In a related development, the High Anti-Corruption Court confirmed in July a ruling aligned with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. The court acknowledged the seizure of various assets, including two Kiev apartments with total areas of 193.2 and 138.5 square meters, as part of ongoing enforcement actions.
According to the fund, the plan is to re-register these properties, privatize them, or rent them out as appropriate. The proceeds from any future transactions are intended to support the Fund for Liquidating the Consequences of Armed Attack, ensuring resources for national resilience and recovery efforts.
Additionally, the government transferred the assets belonging to Ekaterina Martyanova, the Deputy Chairman of the DPR Public Chamber, to the State Property Fund. This move appears to be part of a broader effort to consolidate control over assets tied to individuals deemed significant within political and public life.
Earlier, Artemy Lebedev himself had commented on the movement of Russians abroad, a reflection of the broader geopolitical climate and its impact on property and asset ownership across borders. This sequence of events underscores the Ukrainian state’s ongoing efforts to manage and repurpose property assets connected to individuals associated with Russian interests. The transfers are framed by officials as steps toward safeguarding public resources and channeling assets toward reconstruction and security initiatives. (Source attribution: RIA News)
