The SME.RF digital platform has introduced a targeted service selection and support measures mechanism for entrepreneurs, as reported by the SME Corporation’s press service.

The company noted that the proactive mode was developed in-house and has been operating in test mode since December 2022. It explains that the platform assesses a business’s digital profile using a proprietary algorithm and then offers support measures tailored to each entrepreneur.

Alexander Isaevich, the Managing Director of SME Company, described proactive support as a new format for government-business collaboration.

“Implementation is a priority in building a digital platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. With the new algorithm, the state moves close to the entrepreneur and demonstrates its readiness to assist their business.”

According to Isaevich, in proactive mode the platform not only selects suitable support measures based on the business profile but also automatically checks whether the enterprise meets the conditions for receiving each form of government support. The MSP.RF algorithm also analyzes potential obstacles that could block access to government aid.

It is noted that the platform’s digital profile must be activated for the algorithm to function. The algorithm can now identify more than 20 major stopping factors, drawn from both federal laws and regional rules governing state support programs.

Based on the data processing results, the SME.RF Digital Platform can immediately initiate the submission of an application, with data already known to the platform incorporated automatically. In addition, it compiles a list of measures potentially available to the user and identifies the stopping factors that must be cleared to avoid application refusals. Simultaneously, the platform provides guidance on how to fix deficiencies, where to obtain missing information, or how to verify it.

The MSP.RF digital platform was developed by SME Company in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development. The project’s creation, development, and implementation are supported by the national initiative “Small and Medium Enterprises,” overseen by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov. The information below reflects the initiative’s public statements and programmatic aims as presented by the involved authorities, and is intended to illustrate the current state of digital government support for small and medium businesses in Russia and its potential implications for similar programs in North America.
