The press service of the airline Aeroflot has released a recap of the second final of the SU-Chef all-Russian gastronomy competition. All finalists’ dishes will appear on the new Business class menu in December, highlighting the airline’s commitment to culinary excellence in its international cabins.

The final competition occurred on September 5 at Onest, a renowned dining venue in Moscow. Sixteen conductors from the Festival in Megacities participated, drawing the strongest feedback from gourmets. Contestants prepared a range of cold appetizers, meat, and fish hot dishes, with a discerning professional jury evaluating each course. Senior executives from Aeroflot were present during the tasting to assess the entries alongside the judges.

According to the results, Dmitry Reshetnikov, the brand chef at MON CHOUCHOU in St. Petersburg, earned first place. Igor Shiyanov, serving as chef at Red Wall in Nizhny Novgorod, took second, while Roman Chemerenko of Cheshuya in Krasnoyarsk secured third place.

Reshetnikov commented that the built-in kitchen represents a new and uncharted genre for him. He described air travel as an adventure and a preview of something fresh, and he said these sensations inspired the snacks and hot meals prepared for the country’s premier airline business class. He expressed gratitude for the jury’s high evaluation and for the collaboration with colleagues that fueled a lively and creative duel.

During the event it was noted that Moscow chef Evgeny Kuznetsov from SibirSibir won the audience award, presented by the brand chief of Aeroflot’s in-flight catering supplier CJSC Aeromar, in recognition of the crowd’s response to his performance.

Earlier reports indicated that Aeroflot launched a new in-flight menu for the Business class. The menu items were developed by Vladimir Sokolovsky, chef at the Aeromar brand, with input from the SU-Chef winners, showcasing how competition-driven ideas can influence practical, on-board dining experiences for passengers across routes in Russia and beyond.
