A new Sber social card is set to debut in the Amur region, the press service confirmed, marking a notable step in extending digital banking features to more residents. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to integrate financial tools with social programs across the country, enabling convenient access to a range of services through a single, user-friendly card.

The move was formalized through a cooperation agreement signed as part of the IX Eastern Economic Forum. The document was executed by German Gref, who serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank, and Vasily Orlov, the Governor of the Amur Region. The signing underscores a collaborative approach to public-private partnerships aimed at expanding social welfare delivery while leveraging Sber’s established digital ecosystem.

Under this arrangement, Sber customers in the Amur Region will have the option to issue a new SberCard and register it within the social card program designed specifically for the Amur Region. The registration process is streamlined to ensure quick activation and seamless use across multiple sectors, reflecting Sber’s broader strategy to converge everyday financial transactions with social benefits in a single, accessible platform.

Once activated, the card will grant residents access to a suite of advantages that extend beyond standard banking services. Beneficiaries will be able to use the card to access social programs, public transportation discounts, and additional partner-offered perks, creating tangible savings in daily life. The integration is designed to be intuitive, with support built into the Sber app to guide users through enrollment, validation, and usage across participating partners.

German Gref commented on the initiative, noting that the project leverages existing Mir card infrastructure to deliver a more comprehensive value proposition. The objective is not only to provide a convenient banking product but also to reinforce the card’s role as a practical social tool. This dual functionality aims to enhance financial inclusion while supporting residents’ everyday needs through a unified platform that can adapt to evolving regional programs and partnerships.

Governor Vasily Orlov highlighted the ongoing implementation of the Amur Region’s Social Map project, which began in 2023. He explained that the map already facilitated discount opportunities for travelers using public transport and emphasized how the latest collaboration with Sber broadens access to these benefits. By joining the initiative, the Amur Region reinforces its commitment to delivering targeted, user-friendly solutions that help residents save on essential services while maintaining the convenience of digital payments and streamlined eligibility checks. The collaboration is positioned as a practical example of how regional governance, financial technology, and community-focused programs can intersect to improve daily life for a broad cross-section of residents.
