PSB and Soyuzsotspit announced a joint initiative to create a robust framework of infrastructure and tools dedicated to financing social nutrition. This development was conveyed by the bank’s press service, signaling a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening the delivery of nutrition-related services across the country.
The official agreement was signed by Konstantin Basmanov, the deputy chairman of PSB, and Vladimir Chernigov, the director of the ANO Industrial Association for the Development of Social Nutrition. Their signatures formalize a shared commitment to align financial support with practical programs that directly benefit communities, families, and especially children who rely on stable access to nutritious meals.
Basmanov emphasized that social nutrition plays a pivotal role in achieving the goals of the national project Demography. The aim is to bolster population health and welfare while prioritizing families with children. He underscored the necessity for a broad base of participation and active engagement from all stakeholders, along with concrete steps to attract private capital and accelerate project implementation. The message highlighted that realizing these ambitions requires clear incentives and effective collaboration among public authorities, financial institutions, and private investors.
According to Basmanov, the scale of investment envisaged over the coming decade could exceed 100 billion rubles. This funding would underpin a wide array of activities designed to modernize the social nutrition system in Russia, including upgrading and repurposing food service facilities in educational institutions, introducing cutting-edge technologies, and refining logistics chains. It would also support the construction of production centers and other critical infrastructure components necessary to create a resilient and responsive national framework for school meals and related services.
He noted that achieving such an ambitious agenda will require a mix of financial mechanisms, including offset contracts, public-private partnerships, concessions, lifecycle contracts, and other innovative tools. The blend of instruments is intended to reduce risk, distribute responsibilities, and ensure long-term sustainability of the nutrition programs across multiple regions and institutions.
Basmanov described the agreement with Soyuzsotspit as marking a new phase in the effort to improve social nutrition and to broaden the pool of participants in this vital socio-economic sector. The arrangement is expected to unlock new opportunities for collaboration, drive efficiency, and catalyze broader participation by academic, industrial, and community organizations in the design and delivery of nutrition-related services and technologies. This momentum will also support ongoing evaluation and refinement of strategies to meet evolving public health needs and demographic goals.
Under the terms of the collaboration, both parties will actively contribute to the development and execution of state and regional programs aimed at optimizing the organization of hot meals in educational institutions. The alliance will also be involved in advancing new technologies and fostering effective interactions among all players in the process, ensuring coordinated efforts across institutions, suppliers, and service providers. In addition, the partnership will explore additional initiatives to strengthen governance, oversight, and accountability while expanding access to high-quality nutrition for students and families alike.
