MTT JSC, a leader in intelligent business solutions, supplied the Ozone market with the Number Protection platform, implemented on the MTS Exolve cloud. This update came from the company’s press service and marks a significant step in safeguarding user data on one of Russia’s largest internet marketplaces.

The service is designed to keep buyer information confidential when orders are placed through the marketplace, ensuring a smoother and more secure shopping experience. MTT Product Director Vasily Sazhko highlighted that protecting personal data is a central goal for the company as it supports the security needs of a major online retailer along with its customers in Russia and beyond.

“The solution was developed specifically for Ozone, enabling buyers to communicate with sellers and couriers without exposing personal information,” he explained.

Ozone noted heavy traffic on the platform, with more than 100 calls and messages per minute. The MTS Exolve system forwards calls from sellers and delivery services to a virtual number and then connects them to the buyer through the Telecom API. This approach helps reduce unwanted communications while keeping vendor-customer interactions private and protected.

Aleksey Fedulov, Head of Quality Control and Anti-Fraud at Ozon, emphasized that user security is a top priority for the market and that new protections are continually being explored to shield buyers from intrusive contact attempts.

“The Number Protection mode has helped lower inappropriate calls on the platform, and the moderation system now assists in combating fraud in messages and calls,” he stated. He also encouraged customers to be mindful of digital security and to avoid sharing personal data, including phone numbers, with anyone on the site, including vendors.

Looking ahead, the collaboration demonstrates how cloud-based privacy controls can scale across large marketplaces, offering practical safeguards for customers while enabling secure dialogue between buyers, sellers, and delivery partners. The integration also showcases how telecom-inspired privacy features can be extended to e commerce ecosystems, aligning with global standards for data protection and responsible data handling. The move reinforces trust in online marketplaces where rapid communication is matched by strong privacy protections. This combination supports both user confidence and operational efficiency for merchants and service providers alike, with potential applicability to other regions seeking similar privacy enhancements.
