Arctic LNG Export Bill Moves in Duma

The chairman of the Duma Energy Committee, State Duma deputy Pavel Zavalny, announced that in October the Duma will examine a bill concerning the export of liquefied natural gas from Arctic fields. The focus centers on LNG shipments from resources located north of 67 degrees north latitude. A bill amending articles 2 and 3 of the Federal Law On Gas Export is being prepared for the second reading, with the government as the sponsor. The plan is to pass it in the third reading during October, a statement Zavalny made at the Eastern Economic Forum. This legislation would shape how Arctic LNG projects are regulated and how exports are counted in the broader national gas framework.”
