Gref announces it is impossible to achieve full technological dominance

It is now impossible to achieve full technological dominance, and no one in the world has yet done so. This was announced by Sberbank Chairman German Gref at an online press conference at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

“It is important to understand what we mean by this concept, because it is impossible to achieve full technological sovereignty, not found in any country in the world. For our purposes, I don’t think we have such complete technological sovereignty,” Gref said.

According to him, technological dominance is still necessary according to the main elements of modern technologies. Therefore, the Russian government is currently actively dealing with this issue.

He added that now he owns all the main technologies that Sberbank has created, including in the field of cybersecurity. In this regard, Sberbank is self-sufficient, where the indicators of service availability are almost unchanged.

At the end of August, as part of the training marathon of the Russian society “Knowledge” Gref registered seven key technologies of the future: artificial intelligence (AI), high-speed internet (5G/6G), cloud computing, web 3.0, virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR), quantum computing and biotechnology. The head of the bank emphasized that Sber, as a technology leader, attaches great importance to the development of these technologies, because it significantly increases the efficiency of all spheres of life.
