By 2024, the spending of the public sector on Russian software will increase by 3.4 times compared to the last three years, reaching 650 billion rubles and more. At the same time, the share of spending by public companies on domestic software will be 80% of all IT costs, informs “Kommersan”.
For 43 state-owned companies sending data, spending on IT solutions in 2021-2024 will exceed 934 billion rubles. Of these, 650 billion will work with Russian software.
Such a large share is associated with Western sanctions, with which many large players are forced to leave the Russian market. As a result, since the spring of 2022, the demand for Russian software in government agencies and enterprises has increased by 300%.
According to Dmitry Sorokin, head of development of domestic IT solutions at Softline, the greatest interest in developments in Russia is seen in financial institutions and in the fuel and energy sector. In these industries, the demand for Russian software has increased tenfold recently.
In early April, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin urged local developers to create an alternative to Western app stores. Maria Orlova, CEO of the mobile application developer company Technofabrika, said that the creation of the Russian analogue of Google Play cost hundreds of millions of rubles.
