The share of the loans received by the Russians for emergency and unpredictable expenses was 11% in March 2025. This is stated in the work of the financial online platform Webbankir, which was obtained by Gazeta.ru’s publication office.

A year ago, the stock was 13%and March 2023 and 2022 – 16.4 and 19.9%. So, there has been almost half a decline in the last three years.

“A decrease in the share of loans for unpredictable expenses can talk about both the growth of the Russian income and financial literacy for non -foreseeted expenses: in the past, most of those who lived from strong Majeure to Majeure now plan their budgets better.”

We are talking about the practices that borrowers directly specify that they need money urgently to buy food due to emergency. If the previous “emergency” loans were lower than loans only for existing consumer needs, they would now shifted to the fourth place.

The most popular loan objects in March 2025 were existing household needs (27.9%), large purchases (14.6%), apartment or home renewal (12.9%).

The study was conducted on the basis of analysis of 500 thousand loans for March 2022-2025.
