According to Igor Karavaev, head of AKORT, companies that suspended deliveries to the Russian Federation provided 66% of whiskey imports, 63% of rum supplies, 82% of cognacs and 100% of sparkling wines from the Champagne region.
“Exchanging these positions with Russians in order to fully meet the demand in the New Year season is problematic due to the lack of technologies to quickly establish production in sufficient volumes and difficulties in the delivery of raw materials,” the publication says.
The government’s press service confirmed to Kommersant that they had received an appeal from members of the association, including retailers such as X5 Group, Magnit, Lenta, Auchan and others.
