“Kommersant”: retailers ask the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation to allow parallel import of Jack Daniel’s and Hennessy

The Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT) has asked the Russian government to include the products of a number of alcohol brands on its parallel import list. writes about it “Kommersan”.

According to the publication, we are talking about brands such as Moet, Veuve Clicqout, Finlandia, Jack Daniel’s, Hennessy. The main distributors of alcohol are already working with leftovers, and new receipts are not expected.

According to Igor Karavaev, head of AKORT, companies that suspended deliveries to the Russian Federation provided 66% of whiskey imports, 63% of rum supplies, 82% of cognacs and 100% of sparkling wines from the Champagne region.

“Exchanging these positions with Russians in order to fully meet the demand in the New Year season is problematic due to the lack of technologies to quickly establish production in sufficient volumes and difficulties in the delivery of raw materials,” the publication says.

The government’s press service confirmed to Kommersant that they had received an appeal from members of the association, including retailers such as X5 Group, Magnit, Lenta, Auchan and others.
