New capacities are needed to meet the energy shortage in the southeastern part of Siberia 04:45

In order to close the energy gap in the southeastern part of Siberia, new generation facilities with a capacity of at least 1.4 thousand megawatts need to be built. about this TASS said Alexey Khlebov, branch manager of the system operator “Unified Dispatch Management of the Siberian Energy System” (“UDU Siberia”).

The southeast of Siberia, including Transbaikalia and Buryatia, south of the Irkutsk region, is the region of technologically necessary generation. It is predicted that the energy deficit will be 2,885 MW in 2030.

In this context, Khlebov noted that new generations with a volume of at least 1,462 MW should be built in the south of the Trans-Baikal Region and in Buryatia in order to fully cover the projected deficit in this region.

So, in the Trans-Baikal Territory it is planned to build two blocks of 230 MW each at the Kharanorskaya State District Power Plant in Buryatia – two blocks of Ulan-Ude CHPP-2 in the Irkutsk region – three blocks of 230. MW each in Irkutsk CHPP-11.

in Russia in September statedthat without large-scale investments Russia faces energy shortages.
