This was articulated by Mario Pardo Bayona, the entity’s chief executive officer, in a speech at the Building Future housing forum hosted by Asobancaria. He also assured that the construction industry will be one of the engines of economic recovery this year.
“In Colombia, we always strive to offer the most robust portfolio of sustainable solutions on the market, accompanied by the experience and robustness of the Bbva Group. We currently offer solutions for all segments, we finance sustainable homes at different rates compared to traditional homes or in operations subject to the achievement of sustainable goals. to be a pioneer,” explained Pardo.
According to figures from the agency, Bbva has funded sustainable construction projects with $103,000 million and the purchase of green certified housing more than $15,000 million.
The expectation of the institution is to reach a green loan of 2.7 billion dollars this year. In this sense, it plans to expand its sustainable portfolio with products for different sectors, including loans for home improvement classified as sustainable.
As for the traditional mortgage portfolio, there was 9% growth in balances in 2021 and Bbva consolidated itself as the third largest player in home finance in the financial sector, achieving a market share of 14.98%.
