Fraudsters developed a new plan to steal data on Telegram: Attackers began writing to users from their “Security Tips” accounts, warned TASS.
Potential victims are notified that their accounts have been allegedly blocked due to fraudulent activity on their accounts and are asked to follow a link to the system center. In fact, the link leads to a fake authorization page where the person is asked to enter personal information to log into the account.
Kaspersky Lab stated that it is quite easy to detect phishing in such messages. If the account from which the notification comes can be blocked like other users, these people are fraudsters.
Other popular myths about scammers in these types of mails include account confirmation, software updates, mail service outages, and password expiration notifications.
