The popularity of “baked” baked goods of the Pyaterochka retail chain continues to grow. This is proven by the company’s Bread Day research; In this research, it was learned whether the preparations for the summer season affected the sales of bakery products and also where, how often and what type of bakery products were purchased by Russians from the chain’s bakeries. .
Thus, in 8 months of this year, Pyaterochka customers purchased almost 1 billion bakery products. This is almost a third more than last year. Most often, Russians choose rich and rich puff pastries, as well as different types of ethnic bread, such as lavash, pita or tortilla.
“The biggest lovers of baked goods are residents of the North Caucasus and Moscow – this year alone they have already bought baked goods 6 million times. The report states that the Black World regions are also included in the top three.
Moreover, if in the Caucasus they like wheat bread, puff pastry with sugar and ciabatta the most, then in Moscow there are samsa with meat, pies with cabbage and snails with chicken and potatoes. In general, throughout the country, candied tongues, snails with chicken and potatoes, khachapuri with ham and cheese, rye garlic baguette and chicken samsa are especially popular.
It is stated that the start of the beach season encourages rather than limits the increase in bakery sales. The busiest months of this year were July and August: More than 270 million bakery products were sold in just 2 months. At the same time, the winter months after the New Year, on the contrary, are characterized by limited demand – in January and February 2024, a third less were sold than in the two summer months.
The study also showed that Russian residents prefer sweet pastries the most: sales of such products for 8 months exceed sales of hearty pastries by a third. Thus, there are 340.5 million salty products compared to 439 million sweet products sold.
