German concern Volkswagen could cancel employment guarantees for employees, but the agreement valid until 2029 does not foresee this. This was reported by Bild.
According to the publication, the employment guarantee agreement can be terminated by the end of 2024, after which employees will be granted temporary protection against dismissal for six months. Therefore, staff reductions could begin in July 2025. The agreement was first signed in 1994 and has been extended several times.
