Political scientist says WEF is an important platform for establishing contacts that Russia needs 19:35

The decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish the Eastern Economic Forum in 2015 was fully justified. Previously, the WEF was a long-term investment, now the period of “receiving dividends” has come. This opinion was expressed in a conversation with socialbites.ca by Stanislav Koryakin, political consultant, strategist, author of the Telegram channel “Meanings and Strategies”.

“Russia understands that the former far rear has now become a new gateway to the East. And the EEF as a platform is a place where people who are somehow connected with this gateway can meet. The absence of such a platform will make it difficult to communicate with representatives of many countries,” the political adviser said.

Stanislav Koryakin explained that these relations could not develop without this platform, but with its presence: “Such contacts at the highest level can take place in the most simplified and concentrated form, with the most intensive number of meetings per person per time unit.”
According to him, personal meetings between managers always create a higher level of mutual understanding and emotional involvement in the enterprise.

The political advisor noted that Vladimir Putin’s talks with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, held within the framework of the EEF, continue a series of other meetings, thereby strengthening trust between the states and their leaders.

Stanislav Koryakin concluded: “The EEF is an opportunity to ‘synchronize the clocks’, demonstrate the country’s capabilities and agree on certain terms for the supply of goods or implementation of projects.”

Evgeniy Minchenko, political scientist and head of the Minchenko Consulting communications company, agrees with his opinion.

In his interview with socialbites.ca, Evgeny Minchenko noted that the influence of the Asia-Pacific region on world events has become almost indisputable.

He stressed that the development of the Far East would become more important for Russia if energy and transportation routes to the European Union were cut off.

“At the EEF 2024, a large-scale program of changes in infrastructure development in the Far East, primarily in transport and energy, was announced. Also at the forum, a lot was said about the comfortable life of the region’s residents,” said Evgeniy Minchenko.
The political scientist also expressed confidence that the Far East is waiting for large amounts of funding.

Previously reportedParticipating in EEF 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the Far East as the flagship of the Russian Federation in the new economic reality.
