The cost of a Yandex Taxi trip may increase due to a shortage of drivers. The company’s representative Anton Petrakov spoke about this at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). RBC.
According to Petrakov, there will be a shortage of 130,000 taxi drivers in Russia by the end of the year, and this could lead to an increase in prices of “tens of percent”, especially at the end of the year and during rush hour.
A representative of Yandex Taxi noted that the staff shortage has increased due to the tightening of migration policies and the regulation of taxi activities, which is why drivers are moving to other areas with similar incomes but less demand and expenses.
Petrakov believes that to improve the situation, the company must not only provide an opportunity to earn money, but also compete with other industries for personnel.
“We must create added value, we must help people pay taxes,” said the Yandex Taxi representative.
At the end of August, the auto expert and editor-in-chief of the magazine “Behind the Wheel” Maxim Kadakov statedIn Russia, some taxi companies have a shortage of taxi drivers, reaching 30%. According to him, in the near future this problem will intensify due to new requirements for taxi drivers.
Amosov, who was previously an expert statedOnly a fifth of Russian taxi drivers work legally.
