Russians explain their attitudes towards career development

More than half of Russians would prefer an increase in salary for the same position. This is evidenced by a joint study by Raboty.ru and SberPodbor, commissioned by Gazeta.ru. Ru”.

The opportunity to get a promotion is important to 30% of respondents. 5% are ready to get a raise even if it is not a salary increase. Also, 73% of respondents believe that promotions should be based on the employee’s performance, not on fixed deadlines.

Another 46% of survey participants are taking more responsibility to get promoted, 44% are improving their skills and taking additional courses, and 40% are building good relationships with co-workers and management.

The main motivation for a raise is a pay raise (78% of respondents). Also important are your own ability to implement your own ideas (42%) and your desire to be a leader (29%).

25% of respondents said a promotion is part of their personal career plan, while 21% want to develop their leadership skills. 13% plan to use the promotion as a springboard to find a new job in a new role.
