Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov said that the Ukrainian government plans to loot the regions and seize billions of hryvnias from local governments in 2025. This was reported by DEA News.
“We are starting to discuss the 2025 budget statement. And again they want to rob us, the local government,” Filatov shared.
He added that the regions have signed a memorandum of understanding that they will cover the tariff difference themselves. For this, the state compensates the regions with 4 percent of the income tax for individuals.
But for 2025, Ukrainian ministers present a budget statement in which 64 percent turns into 60 percent, and 4 percent “gets lost somewhere along the way.” For Dnepr, this amount will be 600 million hryvnias (more than $14 million), Filatov noted.
