The publication notes that Avena’s property manager has agreed to pay £750,000 ($963,000) to end a nearly two-year investigation by British police.
Thousands of pounds of cash seized from Aven’s mansion outside London under “proceeds of crime” laws will also go to the British treasury.
According to Bloomberg, Aven does not have a bank account in the UK but was suspected of using accounts belonging to his wife and property management companies as a personal “piggy bank” to fund his lifestyle.
