The Russian Fuel Association, which unites gas station networks, has asked the government to instruct the government to increase production of high-octane gasoline (AI-95 and above) due to strong demand growth in Russia. This was reported by TASSReferring to the relevant letter from RTS President Evgeny Arkusha to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

The Russian Fuel Oil Association demands special attention to the discrepancy between the structure of production and sales of gasoline grades AI-92 and AI-95 (and above) in foreign exchange trading and the structure of domestic consumption of these gasoline grades. The letter states that this is one of the main reasons for the rapid growth of wholesale prices for high-octane gasoline brands in the market.

Arkusha noted that the Russian Fuel Union contacted the Cabinet of Ministers on this issue in May, but the situation has not changed much since then.

July 15, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor of Advertising Department of Synergy University Sergei Zainullin statedIt is stated that gasoline prices in Russia will increase until September, and fuel prices at gas stations will increase by 5-10 percent compared to July.
