The number of orders for door-to-door delivery in Russia in June-July 2024 increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2023. This is stated in a study conducted by the SDEK service (available from socialbites.ca).

The number of orders with warehouse-to-door delivery increased by 12%.

“The end of June and July 2024 in central Russia was abnormally hot; temperature records were broken more than once. In the same period of 2023, temperatures did not rise above 30°C. This year, the temperature in the capital was not lower than this indicator,” said Anna Barsukova, head of the SDEK urban delivery products department.

According to him, this is why people are starting to use door-to-door delivery more often, so as not to have to go out under the scorching city sun. The expert noted that this practice is justified, explaining that in high temperatures it is not easy for people to be outdoors, and they try to spend time indoors (in the office or at home). Barsukova added that door-to-door delivery is now in great demand all over the world.

The study was conducted at the end of July.

Previously at the Central Bank reportedHe said demand for ready-to-eat food delivery was increasing in the capital region.
