Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko extended temporary import customs duty rates for goods from unfriendly countries by decree until June 30, 2025. This was reported by TASS.
In accordance with the decree, the list of goods for which increased import customs duty rates are determined has been expanded.

The Belarusian side hopes for an opportunity to increase the supply of its products to the Iranian market by removing customs duties from exporters. The ratification of the agreement took place against the backdrop of a steady increase in trade turnover between Belarus and Iran: in 2022, trade between the countries was estimated at about $100 million, and in 2023 this figure increased by about 40%.
The agreement between the EAEU and Iran was signed in St. Petersburg on December 25, 2023.
