Government to allocate funds to repair water networks and clean rivers

About 6.5 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the construction of dams, repair of water networks and cleaning of rivers in 2024. This was reported with reference to the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Patrushev. TASS.

Following a meeting of the Federal Agency for Water Resources, Patrushev said that over the past three years, with the support of the government, more than 50 kilometers of dams have been built in the country, more than 220 kilometers of broken riverbeds have been cleared and 137 hydraulic structures have been repaired. More than 23 billion rubles have been allocated for this, including 6.5 billion rubles in 2024.

Speaking about the implementation of the national ecological project, Patrushev noted that over the past five years, 650 km2 and 22 thousand hectares of water bodies have been restored within its framework. In particular, 66 special structures were built to provide water to arid regions in the lower reaches of the Volga.

“The results of this work are already having a positive impact on the quality of life of 17 million people,” Patrushev said.
