Sber and the Moscow Innovation Cluster conduct a free educational program “Venture Academy”. The bank’s press service reported that Russia’s regions include “Siberian”.

It was noted that the first stream of the program will include entrepreneurs, novice investors and top managers of large companies in Siberia. During the training, they will learn the basics of venture investment, how to choose a startup and assess investment risks, prepare an investment contract, organize and partner a deal. In addition, participants will be able to start practicing after completing the program.

“Despite the fact that 91 percent of the country’s population is concentrated in the regions and 55 percent of enterprises are established in the regions, non-metropolitan enterprises receive only 15 percent of investments. And now is the time to reverse this trend,” said Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank.

According to him, the program is designed to provide active investors in the regions with an alternative way to raise capital and diversify their assets. Vedyakhin also believes that the program can draw attention to technology investments and thus contribute to the development of this sector of the country’s economy.

Sberbank announced that it is planned to implement the training program in other regions of the country by the end of the year.

As noted by Kristina Kostroma, head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, partners’ interest in the formation of regional entrepreneurial communities and the development of market participants’ competencies has increased.

“That is why we decided to publish our experience and expertise, provide the necessary tools and thus motivate regional investors to contribute to the strengthening of the country’s technological sovereignty,” he said.
