Rosselkhoznazdor discovered salmonella in pork supplied to Russia from Brazil by Seara Alimentos Ltda. This was reported by TASS said the department’s press service.

“Rosselkhoznadzor constantly monitors products coming from third countries, including Brazil, and as a result, a violation (bacteria of the genus Salmonella) was found in the products of the Seara Alimentos Ltda enterprise,” Rosselkhoznadzor said.

Based on the detected violation, enhanced laboratory control over products from the specified enterprise was introduced, the ministry added. Rosselkhoznadzor also asked its colleagues in Brazil to conduct an inspection at the enterprise and take measures to prevent contaminated products from being exported to Russia.

Before that, Roskachestvo experts spent examination of purchased shawarma and detection of E. coli, listeria and staphylococcus in it.

They decided earlier in Russia create GOST for shawarma.
