Yandex has presented a simulator for CodeRun developers where you can not only solve problems, but also compete to be the best in your field. Oleg Mokhov, president of CodeRun and head of the “Attraction and Development” block of HR Tech on Yandex, talked about this at the Young Con festival.
He said that Yandex has been organizing competitions for a long time and supports the Yandex Competition platform for testing knowledge in various competitions and technical interviews.
“As a result, we have accumulated a large archive of tasks for developers and analysts and wanted to publish them in one place so that everyone can hone their skills, prepare for interviews and practice for competitions,” he added.
It is stated that the simulator allows you to test and improve knowledge, prepare for technical interviews, compete in problem solving and receive rewards for your achievements. At the same time, Yandex announced that all presented tasks were compiled by the company’s developers and invited experts. They are divided by difficulty level and direction.
For example, the task catalog includes tasks from the Yandex Cup programming championship, Algorithm Training and other Yandex events. Additionally, every CodeRun user will be able to track their progress from their personal profile.
According to the developers of the simulator, its main feature is thematic and authored collections of tasks invented or suggested by experts. For example, it includes tasks on machine learning by Alexey Gusakov, technical director of Search and gold medalist of the international ICPC Olympiad.
CodeRun users can also participate in seasonal competitions. It is stated that the season lasts several months and participants compete for leadership in the rankings by receiving points for solved problems. According to the results, rating leaders are awarded certificates, products, an invitation to an awards ceremony at the Yandex office and other prizes.
