On Wednesday morning, the yuan exchange rate on the Moscow Stock Exchange fell to 10.91 rubles. The Chinese currency has not traded below 11 rubles since May 2023. This is evidenced by site data.
As of 10:45 Moscow time, the yuan exchange rate with settlements “tomorrow” was worth 11.05 rubles.
The Russian currency strengthened against the yuan for the fifth consecutive trading session. Andrey Alekseev, portfolio manager at Management Company Pervaya, says the ruble is supported by the Central Bank of Russia’s tight monetary policy, which may be tightened further at the next meeting, and the beginning of the tax period.
On Wednesday, the dollar was trading between 82.7-86.2 rubles and the euro was traded between 88.8-92.6 rubles.
