A new digital ruble fraud scheme has emerged in Russia. This was reported by telegram channel “Cyber Police Bulletin of the Russian Federation.”
“Criminals send mails in the name of the Central Bank of Russia and warn that cash and non-cash rubles are an “outdated format.” Experts said they should be replaced with digital currency.
It was reported that they were trying to persuade citizens to “urgently” transfer “outdated” money to a special account in order to save money.
Experts emphasized that Russians’ cash and bank accounts will not be devalued after digital money enters circulation.
Before that Russians warned about the danger of “divorce” using the digital ruble.
It is stated that primarily the digital platform will be of interest to those blocked by sanctions in cross-border payments, as the digital ruble can be used to pay for goods and services abroad and receive money for deliveries.
