The Swedish government will allocate 650 million crowns ($61.54 million) “to meet Ukraine’s most urgent energy needs, such as the purchase of technical equipment.” This was announced by the government department TASS.
The funds will be sent to the international organization Energy Community through the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. Another 150 million kroner ($14.20 million) will be sent to the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) to finance the “urgent construction of energy infrastructure” in the country.
The primary goal will be to provide energy to Kharkov; Aid will also be sent to Odessa, Kiev and Nikolaev.
Swedish experts note that Ukraine is in great need of technical equipment and other resources for energy production, including generators and transformers.
