The number of reservations for tourist accommodation in Russia for the coming summer has increased by two thirds compared to last year. This is evidenced by data from the MTS Travel travel service; socialbites.ca has a copy.
The leader in the number of orders is St. Petersburg, which accounts for more than 10% of all bookings. It was Petersburg. While Moscow ranked second with a share of 8%, the holiday cities of the Krasnodar Territory Sochi, Adler, Anapa and Gelendzhik were also in the top 3 (over 10% in total).
“The largest increase in the country (more than doubling) was the number of reservations in Moscow, Krasnodar and Vladivostok. This is due to the increasing travel planning horizons of Russians,” explained MTS Travel.
This season, residents of the Russian Federation booked accommodation on average three months in advance of their arrival, that is, 15 days earlier than in 2023. This is a consequence of the growing popularity of domestic tourism: Russians think about their holidays in advance to choose the best options.
The average accommodation check in hotels and other tourist accommodation facilities in Russia during the year increased by 20% and amounted to 5.6 thousand rubles per day.
