Canadian officials are in talks with the Moldovan leadership about sending a large loan to financially support the republic’s government. This announcement was made by Gavin Buchan, Canada’s Ambassador to the country, during an interview with a Romanian television channel. Digital 24.
“We are in the process of negotiating a large loan to provide financial support to the government,” the diplomat said.
According to him, the two states have small joint projects to support civil society, the judicial system and the energy sector.
“We are identifying a number of areas where we will support Moldova,” the diplomatic mission official said.
In conclusion, Buchan spoke positively about the Moldovan reforms, stating that they would accelerate the country’s accession process to the European Union.
