State Duma Deputy Alexey Govyrin reminded Russians about the features of taxation for self-employed and individual entrepreneurs (IP). He talked about this in an interview with . RIA News.
According to the MP, a citizen who has reached the age of 18 can start business life and register as an individual entrepreneur. At the same time, an individual entrepreneur can switch to a simplified tax system (“simplified”) and not pay a number of taxes, such as VAT.
Govyrin noted that citizens can be self-employed and perform various works and services under civil law contracts without registering as individual entrepreneurs or hiring employees. The maximum income of self-employed people is 2.4 million rubles per year.
“Individual entrepreneurs can become self-employed if they do not have employees under them, and can switch to the tax payment system for self-employed people – taxes on professional income – through the My Tax application. “The amount of such taxes will be 4 percent of the income received from individuals and 6 percent of the income received from organizations and individual entrepreneurs,” he said.
But, as Govyrin emphasizes, it is not possible to consolidate tax payments for self-employed people under the “simplified” system.
