In 2023, sunflower oil supplies from Russia to India doubled compared to the previous year. This was stated by the head of the federal center “Agroexport” Dmitry Krasnov, speaking at the online conference “Increasing the competitiveness of the Russian agro-industrial complex in the Indian market.” TASS.
“Last year we physically doubled the supply of sunflower oil and physically tripled the export of soybean oil to India,” Krasnov said.
According to him, the main product groups in Russia’s agricultural exports to India in 2023 were sunflower oil (77% of total exports), soybean oil, lentils, peas and coriander. At the same time, supplies of Russian agricultural products to India have increased 3.5 times in the last three years.
Krasnov emphasized that the Agroexport center sees good potential in further increasing the supply to India.
“During the study, we identified the most promising products. “Their total potential could reach over $2 billion by 2030, which is twice the export volume in 2023,” he said.
Krasnov listed vegetable oils, legumes, beverages and feed among the products with the highest growth potential.
According to the center’s estimates, the volume of Russia’s agricultural exports to India increased by 77.5% in monetary terms during the year, reaching 1.07 billion dollars, while 826 million dollars of export income was obtained from the supply of sunflower oil.
