Airlines will have to pay fines of 100 rubles per hour to passengers for flight delays. It was reported that the amendments to the Air Code of the Russian Federation came into force on April 1 TASS.
According to an agency source at one of the largest airlines, in order to receive a refund, the passenger must submit a written request to the company.
“The company examines the application and requests the passenger’s bank card information, provided that the flight delay is due to the fault of the airline, and refunds the necessary amount in proportion to the duration of the delay, not exceeding 100 rubles per hour,” he explained.
According to the source, there will be no need to pay fines for flight delays caused by weather conditions and delays related to flight safety.
