Manfred Weber, president of the European People’s Party (EPP), the leading faction in the European Parliament, believes that the EU cannot withstand competition in the markets of the future and must protect its economy from China, despite the importance of cooperation with Beijing. This was reported by funke.

According to him, cooperation with China is important, there is no need to destroy anything, but Europe needs to move away from naivety and the EU economy needs to be protected.

Weber believes that Beijing wants to conquer markets for new technologies of the future through discharge methods, as in the case of photovoltaic panels.

Before that, British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe accused EU bureaucracy scares investors and forces companies to invest outside the bloc.

Ratcliffe, chairman of petrochemical group Ineos, admitted that he would not have invested €4 billion in Belgium if he had known about the bureaucratic obstacles in advance.

He said the EU’s Green Deal, designed to decarbonise the bloc’s economy, should also take into account the importance of supporting industry.

Previously in Germany stated It’s about employers’ loss of trust in government.
