The Russian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against JSC Makfa, the country’s largest pasta producer, with the aim of converting the company’s shares into state income. The newspaper describes it as follows:Kommersant”
The Prosecutor General’s Office believes that this company, as well as a dozen other enterprises, including Smak and Chelyabinskoblgaz, are of corrupt origin. The fact is that its beneficiaries, Mikhail Yurevich and Vadim Belousov, carried out entrepreneurial activities at the same time as representatives of state institutions.
Yurevich was a deputy of the State Duma of the III and IV convocations from 2000 to 2005, and then the head of Chelyabinsk, and until 2014 he served as the governor of the region. In turn, Belousov was a deputy of the State Duma in the VI, VII and current VIII convocations until 2023.
The publication notes that judicial practice in such cases shows that satisfaction of the claim is almost guaranteed.
