Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Western politicians lack the political will to establish good and constructive personal relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The usefulness of such meetings, according to Peskov, has been repeatedly proven by Putin’s friendship with former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. The Russian President’s press secretary emphasized that this “helps solve the most difficult problems.”
Peskov’s statement turned into a comment expression Schroeder said his friendship with Putin could help resolve the Ukraine conflict, which cannot end in a victory for one side or another.
