Today’s schoolchildren will develop the economic and technological potential of Russia in just a few years. Alexander Vedyakhin, first deputy chairman of the board of directors of Sberbank, said this after the finals of the National Technology Olympiad (NTO) in the profile “Technological Entrepreneurship”.
It was noted that 90 high school students from 22 regions of Russia participated in the Olympic finals with this profile. Over four days, they competed in various tasks in social studies and computer science, used Sber’s GigaChat neural network model, and presented 21 business projects developed at the Sber School Accelerator together with mentors. Additionally, finalists will continue to develop their startups in the accelerator to achieve specific business goals.
The winner of the profile was a team of schoolchildren from Kurgan SkyControl. The award winners of the individual competition were St. Participants were from the cities of St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Moscow and the Kurgan regions. In the individual competition, St. 14 children were chosen as winners from St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Tomsk, Tyumen, as well as Moscow, Kurgan and Pskov regions.
“Sber Technology Entrepreneurship Profile is not just a competition for school ideas. The guys learn the basics of entrepreneurship and within a few months, with the support of mentor-entrepreneurs, they turn their ideas into real business projects,” said Vedyakhin.
According to him, this approach contributes to the formation of successful businessmen and professionals who are sought after in the labor market.
The first vice chairman of the bank’s board of directors emphasized that “the support of talented men and the opportunity to study at the best universities are important for both Sber and the country.”
Sber said that among the ideas put forward by school children in the final stage, there are projects such as a non-invasive glucose meter, an artificial intelligence educational application for learning foreign languages, as well as a platform to organize training and competitions on cyber security and other innovative solutions. .
Rector of the Presidential Academy Alexey Komissarov said that today it is important for high school students to be involved in the process of teaching technological entrepreneurship.
“The fact that they have the opportunity today to move from a startup to a business project will undoubtedly provide concrete results for the development of the sector as a whole,” he said.
Let us remind you that the school NTO run was carried out in more than 40 areas in the 2023/2024 academic year. The technology entrepreneurship department is in the top 5 in terms of popularity among high school students. Its organizers and partners this year were the Sber School Accelerator, the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the Presidential Academy.
