Russia’s imports to Greece in January decreased by 95.1% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 24.7 million Euros. This was reported by RIA NewsReferring to the Greek statistical service Elstat.
It was noted that the export value also decreased by 31.6%, from 9.6 million Euros to 6.5 million Euros. The trade balance between Greece and Russia was minus 18.1 million euros.
The agency also noted that before the start of hostilities in Ukraine, Russia was one of Greece’s main trading partners, and its main import items were hydrocarbons, mineral fertilizers and wheat.
Before that, Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs prohibited Invite Russian and Belarusian diplomats to events related to the country’s March 25 Independence Day celebrations.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the European People’s Party conference named Russia is an “enemy” of Europe and has promised to continue supporting Ukraine.
