The European Union summit decided to increase tariffs on agricultural products from Russia as well as Belarus. This was reported by TASS Referring to European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen.

“We have prepared a proposal to increase tariffs on Russian and Belarusian imports [в ЕС] Grain products. There are several good reasons for this. This will prevent Russian grain from destabilizing the European market. This will prevent Russia from using the profits from exports to the EU,” says von der Leyen.

Before that, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union has reached Agreement on expanding trade liberalization measures with Ukraine to support Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

While the European Union decided to extend the suspension of taxes and quotas on Ukrainian agricultural products, it was proposed to increase tariffs on agricultural products from Russia and Belarus.
