Japan plans to expand the removal of preferential treatment in trade with Russia amid the conflict in Ukraine. The agency reports that Kyodo.
Current restrictions end on March 31. Japanese regulators are expected to approve a formal decision to extend the measures by the end of the month.
Japan canceled its preferential trade regime with Russia in March 2022. Initially, the ban was in force for a year until March 2023 but was later extended for a further 12 months.
The publication also states that Tokyo will not ease sanctions against Moscow and will “maintain economic pressure together with the United States and European countries.”
