Germany is among Russia’s three largest trading partners in Europe

Russia’s main European trading partners among European countries in 2023 were Germany, the Netherlands and Belarus. This was reported by RIA News With reference to statistical data from the Federal Customs Service and analytical documents of European countries.

It was noted that last year the Russian Federation’s trade turnover with Europe decreased by 50 percent to 163.4 billion dollars. Belarus continued to be Russia’s main partner in the region, with a trade turnover reaching 55 billion dollars. Among the EU countries, analysts identified three countries: Germany (12 .2 billion), the Netherlands ($9.9 billion) and Italy ($9.4 billion). In addition, trade turnover with Belgium, Hungary, France, Poland and Austria exceeded 5 billion dollars.

Some states increased their exports of goods to the Russian Federation despite sanctions. For example, trade turnover with Croatia increased by 22% to 220 million dollars.
