Road imports of goods to Ukraine fell 14% in a month due to protests by Polish farmers who closed the border gates. This statement was made by Taras Kachka, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Trade Representative of the Republic, on the local TV channel Rada.

“Road import volumes decreased by 14% during the month,” he said.

According to the deputy minister, the decline in indicators dealt a significant blow to Ukrainian imports. Although some goods can be delivered by rail, the country still has a great need for foreign fuel, medicine and cars.

Kachka also mentioned that there was a significant decrease in Ukraine’s exports, especially industrial products, automotive industry and furniture products.

“We have huge losses in the market for goods that need to be delivered to the EU on time,” the trade representative said.

Before that Kachka statedIt was stated that Ukraine is ready to accept trade restrictions with the European Union to calm the political dispute with Poland.
