Ceetrus company, which is part of the Auchan group and owns nearly 300 shopping malls in Europe, may sell its assets in Russia. Vedomosti newspaper reports this based on knowledgeable sources.
According to the publication’s interlocutors, the Ceetrus shareholder has been periodically intending to get rid of real estate in Russia over the past few years. However, the issue has not yet reached the negotiation stage with potential buyers. However, the sale of the group’s shopping malls is currently being approved or has already been approved by a government commission.
The real estate sale will allow Ceetrus owners to reduce the risk of owning assets in Russia, sources said. The problem of risk became especially acute for foreign entrepreneurs after the start of a special military operation (SVO).
According to available information, Tatarstan logistics operator Lidertrans plans to purchase the assets of Ceetrus.
A representative of Ceetrus in Russia declined to comment to the newspaper.
